The House System
Saraswati Pooja
As per School tradition a Havan is conducted on the
designated day in which the Board class students (of Classes X and
XII) seek the benign blessings of Goddess Sarswati ahead of their
Board examinations.
The House System
The house system is used within the school to foster teamwork and
a healthy spirit of competition is encouraged amongst the Houses.
Team trophies and individual prizes are awarded for sports and
other activities.
Each house is under control of House In-charge who acts as a
friend and guide to the students. House Captains, senior and
junior Prefects are trained to shoulder responsibilities to help
the House In-charge in efficient running of their respective
Houses.
Aryabhat – For his Creativity.
House colour Yellow.
Born 1525 ago, Aryabhat was a great mathematician and
astrologer. His pioneering book 'ARYABHATEEY' contained simple
formulae for all branches of mathematics and trigonometry.
Aryabhat was the first person who had used the value of pie
for circular shapes. He calculated that one year consisted of
365.2586805 days way ahead of any mathematician of his era.
Aryabhat was the first person who surprised the world that
earth was round in shape and revolved around its own axis. He
proved how solar and lunar eclipses occurred. Till then such
eclipses were considered to be demon grips over sun and moon.

Chanakya – For his Vision.
House colour Red.
Bord around 2350 years ago near modern day Patna, Vishnugupt
assumed the name of Acharya Chanakya for his rock solid
determination. He single handedly organized an army to reverse
the better equipped and till then victorious army of
Alexander. He molded young Chandragupta in to a great King and
founder of the Great Maurya Empire. Chanakya Niti or theory is
referred to this day for management of national
administration, diplomacy, trade and education. As Kautilya he
authored the great book 'ARTHSHASTRA' containing economic
theory to manage State economy and exchequer. His basic rule
of taxation have withstood the test of time and are as
relevant today as the same were relevant in his time. |
Vikramaditya – For his Valour.
House colour Green.
Vikramaditya was one of the greatest Kings of India who ruled
nearly 2100 years ago for only 35 years. Till today that
period is considered the golden era of Indian nationhood. His
capital was Ujjain and he hwas the symbol of justice and
kindness. He was not only a great warrior but also had keen
interest in art, music and literature. He appointed not one
but several eminent persons who could be ranked individually
as a 'YUGPURUSH'. His court of Navratnas included such
personalities as Mahakavi Kalidas and Vaid Dhanwantri.
Maharaja Vikramaditya was the author of the time tested
scientifically calculated lunar calendar 'VIKRAMI' samvat 57
years before the English calendar and referred to all over
India and by Indians all over the world even today. |
Rani Laxmi Bai – For her Patriotism and symbol of 'Naari
Shakti'.
House colour Blue.
Rani Laxmi Bai of Jhansi is the epitome of velour, courage,
confidence, sacrifice and patriotism was born in 1835. As a
celebrated revolutionary she laid the foundation for our first
war of independence in 1857. Rani Laxmi Bai bravely fought
aginst the out numbered and better equipped British army from
June 1857 to March 1958. She preferred to sacrificed her life
than live as a subordinate under foreign rule. British rulers
wanted to usurp the Kingdom of Jhansi by deceipt. Rani Laxmi
Bai challenged the mighty English Empire and told them point
blank "I will not give my Jhansi, never". British army could
not enter Jhansi till she was alive. Rani Laxmi Bai is the
shining example of 'Naari Shakti' and has been immortalized by
that famous poem 'KHOOB LARRI MARDANI VEH TO KHANSI WALI RANI
THI'. |
